Encouraging customers to post reviews on Yelp
We no longer recommend the use of Yelp as a review platform. This change is a result of Yelp's aggressive stance regarding anyone, including you as the owner of your business, soliciting or requesting customers post reviews on Yelp.
On Nov 14, 2017, Jan 9, and Jan 19, 2018, we emailed bulletins to our customers informing you about this Yelp policy. Shortly after, we disabled the use of Yelp throughout all accounts - replacing it with Google, Facebook, or another review site. We reiterated this Yelp topic in our Fall 2017 Newsletter.
Here are the Yelp policy links for your reference:
- Yelp’s policies
- Yelp blog post with penalty warning
- Yelp video explaining how they prioritize your Yelp reviews
- Yelp support center on their solicitation penalty
To comply with Yelp's policies and avoid any penalties Yelp may try to impose on you or us, we no longer recommend adding Yelp to your review sites.
