Requesting Google removes an inappropriate review

If someone posts an inappropriate review on your Google Profile, you can request Google remove it.

Here is the Google support page explaining How to remove reviews from your Business Profile on Google

Here's what we suggest:

1. Visit the above page and review it completely before taking stated action
2. Visit the Google's "content policy" page referenced in it, and their Prohibited and restricted content page.  Find the prohibited or restricted content references that apply to your specific situation.
3. When making the request to Google to remove it, cite the Google policy violations from step 2 above
4. Lastly, be patient.  It could take a while (weeks to months) for Google to remove it.  In the meantime, keep doing a great job creating happy customers who'll post great reviews to minimize that one fake review.

This last part can be tricky.  You need to decide if you should reply to the inappropriate review to defend your business WITHOUT hostile or antagonizing words that could trigger more inappropriate content.   If you choose to reply on Google, consider something like this, but in your own words: "We really value all our customer's reviews.  However, we don't have a record of you as a customer, nor has the situation you describe ever occurred at our facilities.  We provide great care to our customers, as reflected in our reviews.  If you meant to post this comment about another business, we kindly ask that you delete it.  Please feel free to call us at XXX-XXX-XXXX."
