When creating or updating your invitation email, or any emails generated from inside your LoyaltyLoop account, be extra careful when pasting pre-formatted text or HTML into the editor. Whether the LoyaltyLoop HTML editor, or another HTML editor you may use in other applications, it's always a good idea to be extra cautious regarding the formatting of HTML emails.
We find it is best to paste as plain text, then format the text using the editor. To view the underlying HTML of your emails, click the button on the editor toolbar that flips you into "code view" ( <>). From this view, you can review all the HTML. If you are not familiar with HTML coding, you should use the WYSIWYG editor instead. Simply click the "code view (<>) button again to return to the WYSIWYG editor.
There are 3 "Email Template" types in the system. (1) "Mobile" template mode, creates an email with a width of 600 pixels as designed for mobile-specific devices. This mobile template adds left and right gray bars for screens wider than 600 pixels. (2) "Plain" template mode is what most email clients use when you create everyday emails. The mode does not have any special formatting for mobile devices, but will still render fine on mobile devices. (3) "Advanced" template mode is only for experts who know how to code in HTML. The Advanced template eliminates all formatting, even the basic formatting used in Plain mode. This mode is designed for developers who code HTML in some other developer tool or IDE, and then copy the entire HTML document and paste it into the Advanced mode screen. If you don't know HTML coding, you should not use Advanced mode.
Once you're done formatting your email, make sure to preview it by clicking the Preview Email button. If the preview shows you how your email will render in a typical browser-based email client. Keep in mind there are dozens of email clients, and not all are browser-based, like certain versions of Microsoft Outlook. If the preview does not reflect what you expected, rework the formatting in the editor. If you cannot correct this, please reach out to our support team for assistance.
